Are They Daniel Shays of India?

Is there an issue of privilege hungering slaves going mad after getting liberty?
Is there a social and an economic issue hidden behind the following reports.
Will the constitution be rewritten after such cases?

The ruling party members went beyond a limit of civility when they assaulted and pulled naked a revenue officer in Punjab. The Hindi press had shown very telling and disturbing photographs but English press abstained from using the shutters. The actual act has rather imparted much respectability to acts of Shiv Saniks of Maharashtra .

They may not be Daniel Shays. Daniel Shays was a patriot. He obstructed the work of court dealing with debt cases of farmers. But, the elite and natural aristocrats took the opportunity to re write the American constitution and it was the foundation on which America became the real democratic country. Daniel Shays incidence took place in 1786. But this incidence really speaks much about the Indian democracy, the issue of liberty at the hands of individuals, the character of slave mentality Indians (remained subjugated for 800 years under Turks of various descriptions and then Nordics for 200 years) when join the elite group by luck because their landed property had become suddenly highly prized, they are unable to understand what to do with liberty which has fallen in their lap. But is it what they do?

The following reports of national (Tribune is generally considered a regional paper) newspapers, will give some insight into it. However, the real story could have been more effective had they followed the pattern of Hindi and Punjabi Press.

Daniel Shays in Punjab

Mob or Was it the Ruling party Privilege Seekers It is surprising that TOI had not spared enough words to put the real story in the right perspective. I am extensively referring to this paper but the reporting has disappointed me in case of this incidence.

Muckrakers of India

RTI is an effective tool in the hands of responsible and alive citizens. There is a need to understand its actual dimensions. There is similar act in America which is extensively used even by the scholars to gather authentic and update on many issues.

The following report is about such an activity by individuals in Chandigarh. They can be reach at Muckrakers of India

Lord Curzon Turning in his Grave

In India, the government has always taking U turns. They raise a body in order to correct a malady and then that body is dismantled because it is then considered as a malady in itself. The UGC had been under a scanner for a long time. The decisions taken by it had been hailed and then on a later date termed as the most unfortunate decision. The best example is the case of JRF/Lecturer Eligibility test which is called NET or UGC in general parlance, was first hailed as a rationalizing order and later it was dumped as the most unfortunate decision in order to favour the research scholars (those who have done PHDs. BTW how many of them get it instead of doing it themselves).
Then came CSIR and technical education regulatory bodies. I believe that recent addition was NAAC and Nation Knowledge Commission. Now, under the 100 days project (Is there something of Roosevelt 100 Days touch to it?), there are hints that these long standing bodies UGC and other Councils are being brought to dismantling stage. Lord Curzon's soul is not at rest.

उस का पिंड दान करवाना पड़ेगा | यह काम सरकार को ही करना चाहिए क्यूँ के -----!!!???

The Oxford literary world will learn about Gathasaptsati

A. K. Mehrotra, an English teacher in Allahabad University has been elected to the post of Professor of Poetry at Oxford University. He intends to lecture on Gathasaptasati to reclusive literary world of Oxford.

It is surprising that there is no much projection in the Guardian and the BBC. Or do they have to recover to come to their senses before writing about Mehrotra.

Who is Mehrotra?

Who has asked this question? (Frown like a British if you can!!!)

Indian Bloggers Unite

The Government of India is coming out with IT amendment Act 2008. According to its proposed provision 69A, it has identified the heads under which the news and views on internet through websites and blogs can be scrutinized and blocked.

One has to remember the July 2007 when in the name of the security of the country, many domains were just blocked whereas it was desired that only the offending and culpable sites should have been blocked.

Secondly, similar provisions had been proposed for the Television Media. However, Television Media has a strong lobbing power and they are kept of this preview of such broadcast. No doubt, their contents do not come under IT Act, but many of them run their parallel website. They are being exempted.

The website owners and Bloggers who present their information under the right of freedom of expression should join. The Big brothers in field of TV and Print Media also come to assistance of the the independent publishers of digital presentation on internet.

Or is it a move by Big Brothers to scuttle the activities of green horn news sites on the net.

Wissner Gross smelled CO2 all over web not Googel only

There is always some controversy around Google and Wikiepdia. I have already mentioned that I have abstained from googling because a report has mentioned that it generates carbon dioxide. However in the link mentioned below the researcher in question that is Alex Wissiner Gross of Harvard who has been attributed with the discovery that the search generates CO2, there is a different version to the whole story which seems to be more balanced reporting.

Why is it so that G and W are always shown in bad colours?

Who The Hell Writes Wikipedia, Anyway?

Wikipedia is again in news. Just two or three days back there were such news which attempted to tarnish the image of Wikipedia. The only issue used to throw mud at Wikipedia was that Wales was asking for donation whereas he was not maintaining good relations with his girl friend (could that have helped in raising funds) and that he had defaulted in some repayment of some credit card. There were other accusations also. However, today there is a news that Wales has thanked 120000 people for giving donation of 6 million dollars. The news item linked here has called the people writing for Wikipedia as freaks. I am also one of the volunteer. It is really interesting to learn that I am being called a freak. Glee.

If It is Proxyvon and Corex here then Vicodin and Oxycontin is in USA

I believe that it is only Anbumani Ramdoss who can understand the real spirit of this report.

There is general abuse of drugs among the tennagers. Visit the lavotaries of any school or college. There is every possibility that you may find the empty bottles of Corex or Phesidril or something like that in the toilets of the educational institutions.

The report given below is from USA and it is about the general abuse of the drgus among the teenagers in America. It is a surprising report because the similar thing can be found in India. The only difference is that you may not find similar reporting in India.

I believe that Anbumani Ramdoss should consider this problem also an epidemic and deal it more strongly than what he has done with nicotine use in public places and alcohol.
